  1. Robert R. Lamm passed away on February 16th, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Jane; four children, Patti, Steve, Bill and Lori; and five grandchildren. He was a very special husband and father, and will be greatly missed. A private family memorial service has been held. An informal gathering with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 19th at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3204 Fairmount Street, Dallas.
    Bob graduated from Tulsa University in 1949. He started his Real Estate career with Henry S. Miller Company in 1961 after receiving the first MBA degree awarded in Real Estate from Southern Methodist University. While taking his graduate work, he served as a buyer for 120 stores in the Sears southwestern territory. In the summers of 1980 and 1981 he attended the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School. Bob's real estate career was encouraged by his mentor, Henry S. Miller, Jr. to specialize in national brokerage of major income properties. In the 1960-70's he handled the sale of several large malls in Oklahoma City, Denver and Atlanta. In 1964 he formed the affiliate partnership of Miller and Lamm, to work with international clients in Europe and Asia and was also President of Henry S. Miller Financial Corporation.
    In 1970-91 Bob was President of Lamm-Frates Company which later became Robert Lamm Company. The firm acquired and operated a portfolio of twenty shopping centers in Texas and Oklahoma. In 1983 he organized Boston Southwest Corporation which franchised and developed seven of Boston's popular Steve's Ice Cream stores in Dallas, Austin, Houston, and New Orleans. Bob was a founding Director of Brookhollow National Bank, Dallas, and upon the sale of the bank he joined the Board of First Texas Bank, Dallas. He had leadership roles in several national real estate organizations, served as President of the venerable Town and Gown Club at SMU, and was a former member of Northwood Club and Petroleum Club in Dallas for twenty-five years.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, 5655 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas 75220, or a charity of choice. Bob has been a Fifth Church member for over 40 years, and served three years as First Reader.
