He later moved to Hampton, N.E. A Brittishcolony established in 1938. He was granted landas early as 1646. Hesettled in the eastern part of town away from the settlement at Shaw'sHill. Between the birth of Naomi, 15 Apr 1655 and Aaron 20 Feb 1661, hemoved to Haverhill, N.E.(MA) and back to Hampton, N.E. His brotherMosessettled in Philadelphia, that later became Pennsylvania. Note* | An 80th birthday reunion was held for Bob Small of Rockford on Aug. 8-9. Thegroup enjoyed golf, a potluck cookout and music on Saturday. On Sunday theyattended Court Street Methodist Church, went to Old Country Buffet for lunch, then back to the hosts', Bob and Dot Small, for visiting and picture taking. Small Robert A. Small was born June 5, 1923, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, to Mary Ellen and Adolphus Small. He died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in Rockford. Hejoined the Canadian Army in 1942, and was in the 3rd Division of the Cammeron Highlanders of Ottawa, Ontario. He married Dorothea Elizabeth Hawkins Sept.30, 1943, in Brockville, Ontario. They moved to Rockford in 1951. Dorothea died March 9, 1971. He married Dorothy Vaughn Gillenwater, formerly of Rushville, Aug. 19, 1972. He worked at Amerock for more than 40 years, and was a lifelong musician and still an active pianist until his death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lorne, Jim, Jack and Rae Small; and sister, Kathleen Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sister, Mary Louise (husband Jan) Reynierse; daughters, Andrea (husband Charles) Welfored and Pamela (husband Thomas) Laughlin; stepdaughters, Vicki (husband Don) Bulger and Vonnie (husband Earl) Trotter; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were Saturday, May 1in Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Carl Wisdom, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Willwood Burial Park. Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
