Huldah² Prescott (Samuel¹); born 18 February 1819 in Vershire, Orange Co., VT; born 1818 in VT; married Stillman Pollard between 1840 and 1843 in WI Stillman Pollard's household in 1840 does not contain a female. Huldah is probably the female age 20-30 in her brother Lyman Prescott's household at this time. The couple's first child, a daughter, is age 6 in 1850, placing her birth between 2 June 1853 and 1June 1854 (or 6 September 1853 to 5 September 1854, using the enumeration date); married Samuel Bryant probably in Walworth County, Wisconsin. The marriage appears to have taken place after 5 September 1850, the date of the 1850 census enumeration, and the birth of the couple's daughter Mary, ca 1853.
Huldah Prescott is a legatee in the will of Samuel Prescott on 24 June 1837 Waterbury, Washington Co., VT, in the following manner: "I also give to my daughter Huldah Prescott the sum of Fifty Dollars current money of the United States to be paid within two years from the time of my decease, also materials such as wool flax and feathers for two Beds, bedding therefor and the privilege of remaining with my executor and manufacturing the same into Beds & bedding therefore, she working for him at the same time enough to pay for her Board." Huldah Prescott is probably the female age 20-30 enumerated in the household of Lyman Prescott in Mequanigo, Milwaukee Co., WI, on 22 July 1840. She appears as head of household in the census of 5 September 1850 in Mukwanego, Waukesha Co., WI, with Betsy Matson, Lyman Prescott, Sarah Barnard, Elizabeth Esther Pollard, Stillman Pollard, Lorenzo D. Prescott, and Edward H. Prescott.²³ Huldah Prescott appears as Hulda Bryant, age 42, in the census enumerated on 18 July 1860, East Troy, Walworth Co., WI, in the household of Samuel Bryant. Circa 1870 Huldah Prescott resided in Troy, Walworth Co., WI.
Stillman Pollard died before 5 September 1850 in Walworth Co., WI, He does not appear in Huldah (Prescott) Pollard's household in the 1850 census. The value of real estate also seems to indicate an intestate division of property: $1000 for the widow and $500 for each of the two children.
